General

Configure Guidevault's network identity, listener values, backups, and logging from one place.

Notice: changing Host Name, Base URL, IP Addresses, or Port may require a manual Guidevault restart before the runtime listener changes take effect.

Networking

Set the public address users and OPDS clients should use to reach this server.

▣

Backups & Logging

Choose where maintenance backups are written and how noisy server logs should be.

Creates a point-in-time backup using the configured backup directory.

◈

Metadata Sources

Configure external lookup providers. Open Library does not require a key; IGDB uses Twitch application credentials for game metadata lookups.

For IGDB, paste the Twitch Developer app Client ID and generated Client Secret. Guidevault uses server-to-server client credentials, so the OAuth redirect URL is not used by the lookup.

Server Mode

Local ASP.NET Core web server.

Storage Model

Scan-in-place library index. Guidevault does not upload, copy, or move your source files.

Docker Preparation

When hosted in Docker, mount your existing library folder and point Guidevault to that mounted path.

Update History

Guidevault 0.9.144 - Platform Icon Source True-Up Installed
  • Added the platform/category icon library into the source tree under wwwroot/assets/icons/platforms so the GitHub repo and working source stay aligned.
  • Included the platform icon manifest alongside the PNG icons for future matching/lookup support.
  • Removed the need to rely on stale repo-only icon files when matching Guidevault platforms, categories, and collections.
Guidevault 0.9.144 - Platform Icon Source True-Up Installed
  • Flattened OPDS acquisition lists so item entries are terminal entries instead of opening an extra single-item submenu first.
  • Manuals, Strategy Guides, and Magazines now expose download/read/detail links directly from the item entry in OPDS readers.
  • Kept the existing /opds/items/{id} detail feed route available for older saved links while no longer using it as the normal list-navigation step.
  • Reduced the repeated-title navigation pattern where a reader showed the same manual, guide, or magazine issue twice before reaching the item details/actions.
Guidevault 0.9.142 - Insights, Devices, Menu Polish Installed
  • Compacted the Statistics top metric cards so Total Series, Total Items, Manuals, Strategy Guides, Magazines, Total Size, File Types, and Read Events fit as a tighter one-line summary on wide screens.
  • Applied the same blue-glass visual treatment from the Statistics page to Insights > Devices without changing its existing layout structure.
  • Added more dimensional polish to the Devices summary cards, donut chart containers, legends, and connected-device cards.
  • Applied the squared-gradient Settings sidebar treatment to the main Guidevault sidebar while keeping the main menu item hover/active styling rounded.
Guidevault 0.9.141 - Insights Statistics Graph Polish Installed
  • Polished Insights > Statistics with deeper blue-glass cards, stronger icon treatments, and more dimensional chart styling.
  • Enhanced the Stats and Management graphs with layered backgrounds, glows, shadows, area fills, point halos, and wider plotting areas.
  • Updated Management format bars with a more dimensional treatment while keeping the statistics layout intact.
Guidevault 0.9.140 - Customize Drag Reorder Installed
  • Removed the up/down arrow buttons from the Customize > Home shelf rows.
  • Changed the six-dot shelf handle into the reorder control with a grab/hand cursor.
  • Added drag-and-drop ordering for Home shelves so the shelf order can be changed by click-holding the handle and moving the row.
  • Added visual drag feedback, insertion markers, and a softer handle treatment so reordering feels intentional.
Guidevault 0.9.139 - Settings Sidebar Corner Refinement Installed
  • Rounded the Settings sidebar interactive elements so the hover states, active containers, and icon chips feel softer and more intentional.
  • Kept the overall Settings sidebar panel itself squared off so the gradient header/sidebar shell still matches the earlier design direction.
  • Applied the corner refinement only to the button, container, submenu, and icon surfaces instead of changing the outer sidebar frame.
Guidevault 0.9.138 - Sidebar, Account, Stack Polish Installed
  • Refined the Settings sidebar styling while keeping the squared-off gradient treatment and avoiding the top-bar click layers.
  • Polished the Account and Profile surfaces with cleaner blue-glass card treatment, sharper tab styling, and better account-card balance.
  • Changed the category tile stack so the rear layers read as intentional backing cards/page edges instead of duplicate cover glitches.
  • Cached grouped library menu data and switched category-card clicks to one delegated handler so opening Manuals, Strategy Guides, and Magazines does less repeated client-side work.
Guidevault 0.9.137 - Top Bar Reliability Hotfix Installed
  • Hardened the Tasks, Settings, and Profile menu buttons so they bind before other startup work can interrupt the rest of the page initialization.
  • Added a top-bar click guard that forwards blocked clicks back to the correct top-bar control if a view layer or stuck animation state tries to swallow input.
  • Wrapped category/sidebar startup preference loading with safe fallbacks so a bad local preference cannot prevent the top-bar controls from attaching.
Guidevault 0.9.136 - Account + Info Cleanup Installed
  • Fixed the Account page avatar preview so uploaded profile pictures display correctly even with the polished account-card styling.
  • Removed the Account page helper sentence above the login profile card.
  • Removed the explanatory Update History text and hard-capped the System update list to the newest 20 entries.
  • Squared off the Settings sidebar container corners while keeping the blue gradient treatment.
Guidevault 0.9.135 - Top Bar Click Hotfix Installed
  • Fixed the top bar becoming blocked so Tasks, Settings, and the Profile menu remain clickable after the Settings sidebar polish pass.
  • Raised the top bar and its dropdown panels above app view layers and forced hidden views to stop receiving pointer events.
  • Added a small safety reset for stuck panel-animation state when interacting with the top bar.
Guidevault 0.9.134 - Settings Sidebar + Account Polish Installed
  • Made the Settings sidebar sections collapsible for Account, Insights, Server, and Info so long setting groups can be tucked away.
  • Gave the Settings sidebar and Account page a blue-glass visual polish with clearer active states, section icons, and refined account cards.
  • Limited the visible Update History list to the latest 20 entries so the System page stays compact as Guidevault keeps shipping frequent updates.
Guidevault 0.9.133 - Fast Three-Cover Stack Installed
  • Restored the three-cover category/menu tile look while keeping the 0.9.132 fast primary-cover loading path.
  • Uses one real primary cover and lightweight faux rear cover layers, so opening Manuals, Strategy Guides, or Magazines does not wait on secondary preview images.
  • Keeps secondary category preview image prewarming disabled to avoid slowing down first library clicks.
Guidevault 0.9.132 - Category Cover Fast Path Installed
  • Disabled the aggressive category cover prewarm pass because it could compete with the covers currently visible on screen.
  • Changed category/menu tiles to load one primary preview cover first instead of building a multi-cover stack on first open.
  • Optimized cached cover lookup on the server so existing cover thumbnails are read by direct path checks instead of directory wildcard scans.
Guidevault 0.9.131 - Category Preview Prewarm Installed
  • Added aggressive browser and server-side prewarming for main-menu category preview covers before opening Manuals, Strategy Guides, or Magazines.
  • Stopped showing visible No Preview placeholders for delayed stacked covers, so tiles no longer visibly assemble themselves on first open.
  • Added a local cover-result cache so future category tiles prefer covers that are known to render successfully and push missing covers out of the preview stack.
Guidevault 0.9.130 - Instant Category Covers Installed
  • Changed category/menu tiles so the primary visible cover starts loading immediately in the initial HTML instead of waiting for the cover observer path.
  • Kept the primary cover visually on top of the stacked preview so delayed secondary covers no longer make the tile look like it is stuck on No Preview.
  • Added idle prewarming for main-menu primary category covers so Manuals, Strategy Guides, and Magazines feel ready when opened.
Guidevault 0.9.129 - Cover Priority Loading Installed
  • Prioritized the front/primary cover on category menu tiles so visible covers start loading before decorative stacked preview covers.
  • Deferred secondary stacked covers into small delayed batches to reduce first-paint network and archive-reader pressure.
  • Changed menu Colorscape sampling so it reuses covers after they load instead of starting extra competing cover requests.
Guidevault 0.9.128 - Faster Colorscape Apply Installed
  • Added a persistent local Colorscape color cache so previously sampled cover colors apply immediately after reloads and future logins.
  • Changed main-menu Colorscape tiles to apply an instant seeded tint first, then replace it with the real sampled cover color as soon as it is ready.
  • Optimized category Colorscape sampling by prioritizing visible cards, reusing already-loaded cover images, sampling smaller canvases, and processing colors in small parallel batches.
Guidevault 0.9.127 - Colorscape Controls Installed
  • Changed the Preferences Colorscape toggle styling to blue so it matches the rest of the current Guidevault UI.
  • Converted Use Colorscape into a master switch with separate child toggles for the Details Pane, Manual menu tiles, Strategy Guide menu tiles, and Magazine menu tiles.
  • Added optional Colorscape tinting to main menu category containers while keeping the effect limited to the tile container only.
Guidevault 0.9.126 - Profile Hero Gloss Installed
  • Restored the profile-picture based hero background on the My Profile page.
  • Added a semi-gloss blurred avatar backdrop with blue-tinted glass overlays so the hero keeps the polished profile-card look without overpowering the text.
  • Kept the profile avatar, read badge, and hero stats layered above the image treatment for readability.
Guidevault 0.9.125 - Profile Polish + Reviews Installed
  • Removed the visible Home startup loading strip while keeping the background startup improvements in place.
  • Updated the My Profile hero to use real local profile/activity dates for joined, last read, total read time, and average read time per week.
  • Changed the profile tab active color from purple to blue and refreshed the profile metric cards with proper SVG icons.
  • Adjusted the reading activity heatmap so the square grid spans the full year width instead of bunching up early in the chart.
  • Added a Reviews tab editor for saving local reviews against recently read items.
  • Limited the visible Activity tab list for performance and made the local activity retention cap explicit.
  • Gave the Stats tab a light visual pass with cover previews for top-read items.
